One Wish Kid, Infinite Impact

Olivia’s wish has inspired seven years of giving back. This November, the OliviaStrong Foundation is sponsoring the third annual Fairways of Hope golf tournament.

A Web of Inspiration

On average, at least 50 people are touched by a wish — that’s an impact that stretches far beyond one wish kid. For Olivia, the impact is even bigger. “It’s got to be probably ten times that,” says her dad, Kevin.

Throughout Olivia’s medical journey, countless individuals and organizations supported her family, and now, as they give back, they’re supporting countless individuals too. From one brave girl stretches a wide web of humans touched by her story.

A Heart Condition, a Surgery, and a Celebration

Olivia’s medical journey began when she was born ten weeks early, resulting in a heart condition and respiratory disorder. Olivia’s life was a tornado of pneumonia, visits with pulmonologists, and finally, a trip to Boston for heart surgery. “That was a game changer,” says Kevin.

To celebrate her successful surgery, Olivia wished to go to Walt Disney World with her family. From Disney Springs to Animal Kingdom, Olivia’s wish created memories that still shine vibrantly. Kevin remembers it as “closure on the tough part of the start of Olivia's life… a celebration of everything that she had been through.”

Wishing It Forward

Even during the hardest days of treatment, Olivia and her family thought about giving back to Make-A-Wish and the other organizations that supported them.

The OliviaStrong Foundation was soon born. With Olivia’s guidance and her parents’ all-in energy, OliviaStrong works to support families impacted by childhood cancer. With golf marathons, an annual Witches Walk bar crawl, and community engagement, the OliviaStrong Foundation is bringing that dream to life.

“We didn't want to ever lose sight of the fact that we were so blessed by the Charlotte community, Make-A-Wish, St. Jude, and Hemby Children’s Hospital. We've always felt like it's important for us to give back,” says Kevin.

Fairways of Hope

This fall, the OliviaStrong Foundation is sponsoring the third annual Fairways of Hope golf tournament supporting Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina. It’s guaranteed to be a day of friendly competition while raising funds to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
